Melbost, Lewis

Melbost is a village and crofting township on the east coast of the Isle of Lewis, lying about two miles east of Stornoway at the western end of the Braigh causeway. Stornoway Airport is adjacent to the village. The Gaelic poet Murdo Macfarlane, Bàrd Mhealboist, was born and brought up in Melbost.

Melbost should not be confused with Melbost Borve, a settlement on the west coast of Lewis.
