95333: Kenneth Macdonald

Kenneth (1816-1850) was the son of Murdo Macdonald; it is not clear where he was born.

He was living at 6 Aird when he met and married Catherine Martin, of 9 Portvoller, but it is not clear where the couple initially settled or where their first child was born.

In 1842 the family obtained 11 Old South Tolsta, after the previous occupant lost the croft, and the couple went on to have a further two children there.

After his death his widow and children settled as cottars on 13 Portvoller, which was his brother-in-law’s croft.
