Murdoch (1854-1947) was a son of Donald Macaulay and Christina Ann Macrae, 7 Habost. The family moved to 11 Kershader and then in 1863 emigrated to Canada, settling at Whitton, Quebec.
In Vermont, United States of America, in 1887, Murdoch married his second cousin, Rachael Macinnes, an emigrant from Lower Bayble. Murdoch and Rachael settled at Lake Megantic and they had eight children. All of the children were born in Canada and at some point the couple moved to 237 Pleasant Street, Walpole, Massachusetts.
Murdoch was widowed in 1938.
