Murdo (1823-1881) was the son of Angus Macdonald and Christina Macdonald of 4 Brollum.
In 1826, when Brollum was cleared, the family settled at 12 Tong.His mother died shortly after the family arrived in Tong and his father went on to marry Margaret Macleod.
Murdo married Ann Macleod, of 16 Aird Tong, and the couple settled at 16 Aird Tong.
