16 Aird Tong was lotted in 1830 and the first tenant was Donald Ruadh Macleod (1800-1835) son of John, 6 Aird Tong. After his death the croft passed to his widow, Effie Mackenzie and she passed 15 Aird Tong to her son-in-law, Murdo Macdonald of 12 Tong.

In 1895 Malcolm Thomson, son of Donald, Aird Tong, obtained 16 Aird Tong and after his death it went to his daughter, Chirsty Mary.
