Includes Mackenzie’s journals of expeditions from Lake Athabaska to the Arctic Ocean and from Fort Chipewyan to the Pacific Ocean. It includes an account of the development of the fur trade by the North West Company, as well as vocabularies of the Knisteneaux, Algonquin, Chepewyan, Nagailer and Atnah Indian languages. The work is dedicated to King George III.
