Catherine Maciver was born at 5 Brue in 1833 and baptised there in 1835 aged 18 months. Her parents were John Maciver and Christina Matheson. She married Finlay Maciver of 24 Lower Barvas and had a family of four sons and one daughter at 24 Lower Barvas. Catherine died in 1893 at 24 Lower Barvas and is buried in Barvas.
