95125: Murdo Martin

Murdo(born 1828) was the son of Donald Martin and Mary Macdonald; it is not certain where the family were living at the time of his birth. His father had links with Harris, Ardroil and Melbost and his mother was from Ness.

In 1830, when Old North Tolsta was lotted, the family obtained 13 Old North Tolsta.

His father died in about 1840 and his mother went on to marry Alexander Murray, of 15 Old South Tolsta. He gained two half brothers from this marriage.

In 1853 the family emigrated to Huron Township, Bruce County, Ontario.

Murdo married Christina Macdonald, of Ontario.
