93383: John Macmillan

John (1858-1920) was the son John Macmillan and Rachel Carmichael of 4 Glen Tolsta.

He married Kenina Macleod and moved with her to Hill Street South, North Tolsta were they at least four of their children.

In 1884, long after he had left the parental home, his parents combined their croft with 3 Glen Tolsta and called it 3/4 Glen Tolsta.

In 1891, John’s Uncle Angus died and John inherited 2 Glen Tolsta. John’s daughter Ann was born the same year. At this time Hill Street South passed to, widow, Annabella Macleod.

The couple had two further children once at 2 Glen Tolsta. In total he had seven children: four boys and three girls.

In due course 2 Glen Tolsta passed to their son, Donald.
