Alexander Macleod (1829-1895) of 26 Cross married Isabella Macleod of 1 Old South Tolsta; the couple settled at 11 Ballantrushal. They had two daughters and a son (who died in infancy).
Subsequent to Isabella’s death in 1862, Alexander married Margaret Macleod of 11 Upper Shader. Alexander and Margaret had three daughters and three sons. One of these daughters, Isabella, married John Maclennan of 35 North Tolsta.
