92563: Murdo Campbell

Murdo (1836-1909) was the eldest son of John Campbell and Jessie Macleod. It is not certain where the family were living at the time of his birth, but it is possible they were staying at 24 Old South Tolsta or 21 Old South Tolsta. 

In 1841, the family obtained 21 Old North Tolsta, after the previous occupant emigrated to Whitton, Quebec.

In 1851, during the croft re-lottings, the family obtained 54 North Tolsta.

On the 22nd of December 1864, in Back, Murdo married Marion Macleod, of 34 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 34 North Tolsta as cottars. Their first child died in infancy, in 1867 and their second child died in 1874 at five years old. In total the couple had seven children: five boys and two girls.

The house passed to their unmarried daughter Christina (Cairstiona Mòr).
