91429: John Murray
John Murray (1811-1890) was from 20 Vastisker. He married Margaret Maclean of 4a Tong. The address where the couple spent the first few years of their marriage and had their first five children is not known.
The family obtained 35 Old South Tolsta as a new croft in 1844; the couple had a further three children there.
In the 1851 croft relottings the family obtained 12 North Tolsta and a further child was born there. In 1853 the family moved to 23 Newmarket, where they had their final child. In total the couple had ten children: six boys and four girls.
A descendant still lives at 23 Benside in 2021.
