91030: Norman Stewart

Norman (1811-1888) was the son of Murdo Stewart and Ann Morrison, of 4 Old Coll.

Norman married Christina Macdonald, of 10 Old Coll, but it is not known where the couple initially settled and had their first two children: George and William. George died in infancy.

In 1851, during the croft relottings, the family obtained 20 Back and his parents obtained 35 Coll at the same time. The couple had their final child, Ann, at 20 Back.

Norman was widowed in 1856.

He went on to marry Mary Morrison, of 5 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 20 Back and had a son, Murdo, in 1864. Murdo died in 1871.

In due course 20 Back passed to Norman’s son, William.
