74827: Mary MacLean
Mary MacLean, born in 1829, was the daughter of Alexander MacLean and Mary MacAskill of old Ruisgarry. The family moved to 11 Ruisgarry (Quay) which her father obtained in the 1850 relotting of Ruisgarry, though they were later removed to Ludag. The house at Ludag passed to Mary following her father’s death.
Mary’s youngest sister, also a Mary, died in 1874, leaving four children. Mary, a wool spinner, cared for the youngest, nephew Norman MacLeod, who lived with her until his marriage, when he made his home in the adjoining house.
