70234: Christina MacLeod

Chirsty was born about 1812, the daughter of Malcolm MacLeod and Mary MacIntyre of old Borve. The family moved to 304 Kilpheder, South Uist during the 1820s, though Chirsty was to return to Berneray with her husband Roderick MacLeod a few years later. With him she was to have seven children. They made their home in Borve, moving to Ben Leva in the early 1850s. Chirsty worked as a weaveress.

Note: although the death register gives her date of death as 6th March, the date 4th March is engraved on her gravestone.
