John (1832-1892) was a son of Donald Macdonald and Christina Smith, 14 Old Mangersta. He married Catherine Macleod, 13 Crowlista and they had seven children, one of whom, Margaret died in infancy.
In 1872, they relocated to 5 Doune Carloway.
John died from typhoid.
