67761: Janet MacKay
Janet, otherwise Jessie, born 1864, was the daughter of Duncan MacKay and Ann Gillies of Lochgilphead.
It is believed that Janet came to Berneray as a servant for Reverend Gillies, and was possibly related to Catherine MacKay, his niece and housekeeper. In 1890 Janet married Malcolm MacLeod of 1/2 Ruisgarry (Sandhill), with whom she was to have eleven children.
