John (1849-1929) was a son of Alexander Macleod and Ann Macleod, 4 Garyvard. After the death of his parents John and his sister, Catherine remained in the family home and took in two lodgers, widow Peggy Macdonald nee Macleod and her niece Elizabeth Macleod.
In Lochs, in 1875, he married Ann Macrae, 6 Habost. John and Ann settled at 4 Garyvard and they had six children.
