45139: Marion Montgomery

Marion (1832-1920) was a daughter of Donald Montgomery and Flora Mackenzie, 15 Balallan.  In 1853 she married William Mackay from Durness who was the Schoolmaster at the Gaelic School in Balallan. In 1854 Marion and William had a son William.  Family tradition relates that William abandoned his wife and son and went to live in Edinburgh. Marion moved to Stornoway and she appears to have moved between Stornoway and Balallan on a number of occasions.

Marion also had two daughters, Margaret and  Flora.
