27584: Roderick Ferguson

Roderick Ferguson (1908-1979) son of Donald Ferguson and Margaret Macleod, 22 Laxay enlisted in the county regiment serving in the first Battalion and then in the second for seven years. He was on the reserve list in 1939 when he was recalled and joined the BEF – British Expeditionary Force to France in 1940. He was captured and spent the rest of the War in a Prisoner of War camp. After the War he spent two years in Germany helping with the resettlement of Germany before returning to London to work in the Civil Service. He married Catherine Macleod from Dell, Ness and lived in London.
