1584: John Nicolson
Iain Dhòmhnaill Thormoid
John (1811-1888) was a son of Donald Nicolson and Ann Mackenzie, 10 Old Eishken. The family left Eishken in the 1820s and were Cottars at 5 Old Gravir.
In Lochs, in 1835, he married Isabella Macleod, 5 Old Gravir. John and Isabella were Cottars at 5 Old Gravir where they had seven of their eleven children. In the 1852 Lotting the family obtained 32 Gravir.
In 1872 the family moved to 22 Newmarket.
When his daughter, Isabella died, his granddaughter, Isabella Maclean came to live with the family.
