Ann Mackenzie (1853-1934) was a daughter of Norman Mackenzie ad Matilda Ross Macleod, 4 Calbost.
In Lochs, in 1883, she married John Macarthur, 2 Cromore. Ann and John were Cottars at 4 Calbost and they had two children.
Ann was widowed in 1891 and is said to have raised her family of two largely on the proceeds from her spinning wheel. Eventually her brother Angus Ruadh Mackenzie found a place for her at 6 Steinish, Stornoway.
