13335: Fergus Ferguson

Fergus Ferguson (1886-1971) was a son of Ronald Ferguson and Christina Macleod, 12 Habost. In 1917 at Anderston in Glasgow he married Angusina Mackay, Oldshoremore, Sutherland. Fergus and Angusine settled in Dumbarton and they had three children. Fergus died on the day the Erskine Bridge was opened.

Fergus worked in Clydebank as a carpenter. He had an accident with a power saw whilst at work and lost his finger. As it couldn’t be sewn back on, he kept it in a jar and the next time he came to Habost on holiday, he buried his finger on a hill behind 12 Habost.
