Alexander (1835-1876) was a son of Norman Macaulay and Margaret Macdonald, 9 Ranish. He moved to Stornoway and was living at 2 Keith Street with Murdo Macdonald, Boatbuilder.
At Uig, in 1868, he married Christina Macdonald, 18 Tobson. Alexander and Christina settled at 8 Keith Street, Stornoway and they had two sons.
