Donald (1821-1891) was the son of Angus Macdonald and Christina Macdonald of 4 Brollum.
In 1826, when Brollum was cleared, the family settled at 12 Tong.His mother died shortly after the family arrived in Tong and his father went on to marry Margaret Macleod.
Donald married Mary Morrison, of Harris, and the couple settled at 31 Aird Tong.
