114942: Murdo Macleod

Murdo (born 1898) was the son of John Macleod and Ann Maciver of 60 Back.

Murdo became a teacher and worked for the Lewis School Management Committee.

Murdo married Margaret Murray, of 62 Back, and the couple initially settled at 49 Vatisker.

In 1924 Murdo became the headmaster at the North Tolsta Junior Secondary School and the family settled at the Schoolhouse, North Tolsta.

In 1931 the family returned to Back and settled at 60 Back which Murdo had inherited. They had four children, but it is not clear where they were born. Their eldest daughter Margaret died in infancy.
