John, born 1868, was a son of John Macarthur and Catherine Macdonald, 15 Achmore. John married Marion Morrison from 4 Arivruach. The couple settled at 15 Achmore and had seven children. In the 1870s the croft was split with John (15a) and his brother Angus (15b) Achmore.
