John (1823-1896) was a son of John Macaulay and Christina Nicolson, 1 Old Lemreway.
In 1843 the family were removed to 9 Crossbost.
He married Isabella Mackay, 13 Achmore in 1851. John and Isabella settled at 14 Achmore before moving to 30 Ranish around 1869. The couple had seven children.
