106458: Kate Effie MacLeod

Kate Effie MacLeod, born 1934, was the daughter of Allan MacLeod and Marion MacAskill, spending the early part of her childhood at 9 Borve, Berneray. The family later moved to the old Manse at 6a Ruisgarry, which her father bought in the mid-1930s.

Kate Effie settled in Glasgow, where she married Jimmy O’Brien, with whom she had six children. She later returned to Berneray, where she owned a house at Lamerick for a while before moving to 3 Church Road. The last few years of her life were spent in Erskine.
