Finlay MacKinnon, born about 1840, was the son of Donald MacKinnon and Christina MacAskill of old Borve, then Deiraclete and 11 Cluer. He became a fisherman and gaffer of building work, marrying Jessie MacMillan of Ferry in 1868. They made their home at Leacan, Tarbert.
