Summary:

HOUSE? (Crofting – 1850 AD to 1950 AD)
BLACK HOUSE? (Crofting – 1850 AD to 1950 AD)
Possible blackhouse (demolished)

Location:

NB 28144 16611

Full description:

"Situated above the northern shore of Loch Seaforth Head, this large pile of stones is orientated from north to south and measures 12 x 10 metres. At the time of survey it was heavily overgrown making interpretation difficult, but it is thought to be the remains of a demolished blackhouse. What is not clear is whether this is the house’s original site or whether in the process of demolition its remains have been moved and redeposited." (Burgess 2004, 53)
