24 Tolstadh a Chaolais

Murdo Young (1791-1872), son of Angus Young and Ann Maciver, Callanish was a tenant of this croft which then passed to his son Norman.  Norman had resided in the village of Deanston for a number of years before moving to Tolsta Chaolais when Deanston was abandoned in the 1850s.

Norman’s daughter Mary became the tenant, followed by her son Kenneth.  The croft was sold to Mrs Marion Macarthur, 25a Tolsta Chaolais.
