The first tenant of 10 Aird Tong was Norman Cameron (1790-1828) and on his death his widow, Mary Macleod married Matheson, son of Malcolm originally from Uig. After Mary's death the croft was divided between her daughters Effie (1832-1909 and Annie (born 1837). 10 Aird Tong was passed to Murdo Macleod and then in 1954 to his son, Peter Macleod.

In 1973, Norman Macfarlane purchased the croft.
