This was probably a single croft until the re-lotting of Shader, Tolsta Chaolais in 1850.

John Macleod (b1796) was a tenant on this croft until he emigrated with his wife and family to Bruce County, Ontario in 1851.

The croft passed to John Young (1789-1877), Strom and was divided between himself (No 22a); his son Angus Young (No 22b) and his son-in-law Angus Macleod (No 23)
