12 Aird Tong was a newly lotted croft in 1830 and the first tenant was  Angus Finlayson from Barvas. Upon the death of Angus the croft was passed to his son-in-law, Murdo Maciver (1835-1890) and then to his son John Maciver. 12 Aird Tong was passed to John's son Kenneth Maciver.
