105171: ‘House 30’ Backhill

Built in the 1850s, this property was the home of Murdo MacCuish and his wife, who had been cleared from Borve. The next residents were widow Christina Shaw (née Munro) and her children. It passed to her youngest son Malcolm.

This property is referred to as ‘house no 30’ in the croft history of the area. It is not to be confused with the current address 30 Backhill, which was shown as ‘house no 20’.
