45210: Free Church Training College, Edinburgh

Prior to 1907, it was the church that provided training for teachers in Scotland. The Free Church of Scotland Training College in Edinburgh was established following the Disruption of 1843, accepting its first students at Moray House, Edinburgh in 1848. 

In 1907 the Free Church Training College merged with the Church of Scotland Training College to become the Edinburgh Provincial Training Centre and in 1959 was renamed Moray House College of Education.
