8683: HMS Gloucester

HMS Gloucester was built at the Devonport Dockyard (Plymouth, England) by Scotts Shipbuilding & Engineering in 1937. She was commissioned in 1938 and served with the Mediterranean Fleet until she was bombed and sunk on 22 May 1941 during the German invasion of Crete. A total of 694 men were lost.
