The SS Amicus was a Cargo Steamship built by Craig Taylor & Co Ltd, Stockton on Tees in 1911 for the Tempus Shipping Co Ltd, Cardiff. She was sold in 1919 and renamed SS Portreath, in 1932 to SS Oskepasti and in 1944 to SS Cygnet.
On March 13, 1950 on passage from Emden to Hull the SS Cygnet was damaged by a mine and traveled to Dunston on Tyne for breaking up.
