120120: SS Balfron (130124)

The SS Balfron was a Steam Cargo Ship built by Scott & Sons, Bowling in 1920 for the South Shields Steamship Company.

On July 4, 1941, on passage from Southend on Sea to Grangemouth the SS Balfron was  bombed and sunk North of Scarborough with the loss of 4 crew.
