94972: Torquil Campbell

Torquil (1883-1932) was the son of John Campbell and Isabella Graham of 54 North Tolsta.

He joined the Militia for the Second Boer War and was stationed in Cairo on garrison duty.

Torquil married Elizabeth Morrison, of 8 North Tolsta, but it is not clear where the couple initially settled or where their children were born.

During the First World War Torquil served with the Royal Naval Reserves.

In 1922 the family obtained 5 New Tolsta as a newly lotted croft; it is possible their last child was born there, but it is not certain.

In due course 5 New Tolsta passed to their eldest son: John.
