Donald (1873-1966) was the son of Donald Mackenzie and Catherine Maciver; the family were cottars at 26 North Tolsta.
In 1874 the family obtained 73 North Tolsta as a newly lotted croft.
Donald married Gormelia Murray, of 49 North Tolsta, and the couple settled at 73 North Tolsta. They had eight children: seven girls and a boy.
In due course 73 North Tolsta passed to their daughter Annabella.
