Ann was born in 1801, the older daughter of that name born to Malcolm Shaw and Catherine MacLeod of old Ruisgarry. She married farmer Murdo Ross and they made their home in Ruisgarry. Together they had five children. In 1850 they obtained 14 Ruisgarry (Trealigarry), but moved four years later to 3 Sgeir an Aoil, Malaclete.
