70140: Marjory Ferguson
Marjory Ferguson was born in 1838, the daughter of Roderick Ferguson and Marion MacKillop of old Ruisgarry, then Borgh Mhor, Harris. In 1854 the family returned to 10 Ruisgarry (Gunhill), which had been passed to her father.
Marjory married James MacAskill of Ferry, with whom she had eight children. The family lived at Port with her parents-in-law until 1873, when they moved to her father’s croft at Gunhill, where James assisted with the crofting. In 1900 the croft was passed to James from Marjory’s brother Roderick.
Marjory died of supposed influenza in 1919.
