Marion MacAskill was born in 1900, the only child of Marion Anna MacAskill, who died just 3 days after the birth.
Marion was brought up on her grandparents’ croft at 4a Ruisgarry (Tarraloch), attending Berneray School between 1905 and 1909. Sadly, she died of tuberculosis at the age of 15 years.
