John, born 1833, was a son of Murdo and Ann nee Macarthur who relocated from Barraglom to 17 Uigen. John and his brother Donald assumed joint tenancy of the croft and both settled there with their respective families.
John married Christina nee Mackay, 7 Brenish with whom he had six children.
