Catherine (1820-1913) was a daughter of Murdo Macleod and Ann Macarthur who relocated from Barraglom to 17 Uigen. She was married to Malcolm Macaulay, 3 Old Islivig and they lived at 10 Islivig before relocating to 5 Islivig. They had ten children (also fostered a nephew).

A headstone at Baile na Cille cemetery erected by their son Alex (a Stornoway business man) reads:

In loving remembrance of my father Malcolm Macualay who died 9th April 1880 aged 78. Also my brother Murdo who died in Quebec 16th September 1887 aged 28 years. And my mother Catherine Macleod died 11th June 1913, aged 93
