John, born 1839, was the youngest child of John and Mary nee Maclennan, Croir. When Croir was cleared in 1880 John and his sister Christina moved to No 18 Hacklete. John was unmarried – as was his sister Christina; a cousin Christina Macdonald 7 Hacklete who was married to Malcolm Madson from Valtos moved in with the old folk.
