51869: Catherine McLachlan
Catherine, born 1907 in Glasgow, was a daughter of Jessie Mackay, 34 Valtos. During the First World War she was an evacuee living with her uncle Malcolm at 34 Valtos (hence the sobriquet ‘Ceit an Taillear’).
According to local tradition it was during this time she learnt to speak Gaelic – in her own unique style.
