Donald (1788-1872) was the son of John Macdonald and Catherine Macdonald, Hacklete, Bernera.
He married Christina Macarthur of 8 Doune Carloway and together they had eight children.
Between 1847 and 1851, some of their children are recorded as living with them in Doune Carloway; Mary, Marion, Margaret, Donald and Christina.
By 1861, Donald was a widower and was living at 10 Kneep, Uig, with Marion, Margaret, Donald and Christina.
